What to pitch

Send a short proposal through the Contact page. Tell us the question your piece will answer, its main point, the category it might suit, and what makes the subject worth a reader's attention. A focused idea with a clear boundary is more useful than a broad theme.

What makes a strong contribution

We look for accurate, original explanations, concrete examples, plain language, and a thoughtful account of what is known and what remains uncertain. Pitches should not depend on invented anecdotes, unsupported origin stories, or advice that requires a professional or official decision.

Please tell us whether the proposal has been published or sent elsewhere, and disclose any relevant interests or relationships. A pitch is a proposal rather than a promise of publication.
